Freshmen: The most....ah hell, screw sarcasm. They're the worst problem solvers I know. You were looking for me tonight? Yo, you left that note at 1:30 AM at the earliest. 3 AM at the latest. Why the eff are you looking for me at that time?
How about this.... 1) If I'm not in my room and you're too lazy to go check the front desk, GO ASK TAIT. He doesn't bite, even if he is quiet. But I'm not your only CA.
And 2) You know, all of you girls use Facebook to contact your friends. Yet only one of you has voluntarily added me on Facebook. Hmm....ever thought of contacting me through there? Or is that too difficult for you? Now have I made myself clear? :)
Meh, I don't feel much pity for people searching for me that late at night. This is college. I can be at any number of places: At the library, at home, on vacation, with a friend on another floor, blah blah blah....and considering how often I've had problems trying to find residents during normal waking hours, I don't feel much pity.
For some reason, I have a bad feeling that the note might've had something to do with a resident puking in their room. No confirmation of that, but considering how the residents were tonight...it is possible. And for that, I say they can handle it anyway. It's in their private residence, and we're not their maids. However, I'd be able to help just as a friend, but uh-uh, I'm not the person to ask if you want it cleaned up by someone else. >:/

Entertaining Myself....GO
This is the time where I come up with useless crap to say to entertain myself while working at the front desk from 2 to 6, while everyone else mills is coming and going to tailgating and the football game. Which starts at 4. Gahhhhh....
2:18 - I had just realized that I let Hot Canadian Bacon's real name slip in one of these posts. Good luck finding it, though, because it comes up multiple times, yet I wasn't speaking of the same person. Frigging luck there, right? :P
Amp is an all right replacement for when I can't get my Dr Pepper fix. But only all right, but not quite satisfactory or excellent. I also just noticed the reason that I've always thought Amp tasted like a hyped-up Mountain Dew.....Mountain Dew's on the can. Huh.
Last night in our cologne conversation, HCB let it slip that he was wearing Drakkar Noir at the time. I freaked out a little bit. Mostly because when I was younger, that was my favorite of all favorite colognes. For a pretty obvious reason...
Oh yeah. :D
Speaking of which, I'm thinking of making another Harvey Prince purchase. Before I absolutely had to get the Eau Flirt scent that had come out, just a little bit of it, which was my splurged present to myself last year. Now apparently they came out with a body lotion with the scent or something, which I'd be able to use whenever/wherever etc etc....I'm tempted to buy some. Even if it is wayyy beyond what I would spend at Bath & Body Works. It's so good though... D:
3:02 - Dr Horrible's Sing-Along is epic. For it being such a tragedy, it's so freaking awesome...yeah. And just now, a student and her parents walked by right as Captain Hammer said "The hammer is my penis." AMGGGGG I'm both appalled and can't stop giggling. :D
5:22 - I've got 40 minutes left. Yay! But I had to check in a couple residents because both of their new CAs were gone, and then on top of it I couldn't find the RCC for their room. Grawrrrr...so I had to make a new RCC for them.
5:29 - HCB now knows that I have a blog. Not this blog. But a blog. And holy shit did he pull out of the parking lot fast just now..... o.o Also, we're up 7-6 against UNI. Haaaaa.
6:21 - Umm, where the fuck is my co? He's supposed to work 6 to 8. I'M STILL HERE.
Meh, I'd be here anyway, but at least I'd be at the front desk eating something. Most likely Burger King, since it's right there across the street...fuck I'm hungry, too. :/ My problem is he forgets shit all the time. And I'm so torn.....I want to tell him to get his ass down here now, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind making another two hours' pay. Even though I've got a bit too many hours as it is. :/
Fuck it, I'm going to remind him. I'm done with the move-in guys and I even finished organizing HCB's programming shit already. Speaking of which, I think I'm allergic to programming. It made my eyes physically hurt to look at all the proposals and evaluations...oww.
6:33 - We're now losing 19-7. Ahh well.
11:13 pm - Ahh yeah, so rather than writing a new post, I'm editing. Woo! Well we lost, 19-16 or something like that. Meh, I was stuck at the desk the whole time anyway.
HCB told me he owed me one for helping with organizing his programming crap. I told him he owed me lots of ones. He knew that already though, lulz. This may mean he'll feed me sometime, yuss! He started asking if I like sushi or not, apparently my answer of "Never had it" didn't cut it. Saying yes to fish did, though? I dunno.
Also, Sam and Jean and I have ironed out the details to our Sioux Falls trip tomorrow. 10am we're hitting the road to the mall! Must remember that I also want to do shoe shopping and Last Stop CD Shop...but mostly this trip is for Victoria's Secret. We made a point of it about a week ago. Yay for planning!

Is This Real Life.....
Gawd, my head hurts and I don't know what it's from. Had it since before noon, so who knows what. :/
This morning Jordan and I went soda shopping for the Honors Lounge again. She's finally had it with the soda stocking, more so because she's heard freshmen bitch and whine about the selection of soda in the fridge. Like we care when it's college and all you want is the caffeine intake. So when we were shopping, we were trying to remember the list of what went over well usually....then I saw the Canada Dry. Annnnd it was instantly AMG WE MUST :3
We bought the Canada Dry, along with a bunch of other random soda brands that we don't normally get. They're either going to be pissed, or happy as can be. I'm trying to imagine the reactions of the freshmen if the see the Canada Dry, absolute hilarity because HCB is the hall director to the Honors floor, or hatred because it reminds them of HCB, after he ruined their dance parties in the lounge. :D
With Canada Dry in hand, I was dropped off at the front desk and prepared for my noon to 2pm shift. I prepared by getting myself an Amp. So at 11am I'd had a Canada Dry, finished off by noon when I had an Amp. Finished that off by 1pm. Had part of a Dr Pepper at 3pm, and finished it off at 10. Oww.
During my desk shift, we also just had to have a fire alarm. Stupid freshmen trying to fry tortillas in an inch of oil. An INCH. On 1st Beede, no less, so I could smell it at the front desk when I came back from our door-locking. It wasn't too bad though, thank gawd it was at 1 in the afternoon as opposed to say, now. I swear, if there's an alarm at 3am, we're all going to murder someone...
Then I went out to eat with Jordan at Chea's, which was awesome. Nice time to catch up with her before she goes back home to see her new baby sister, and I got amazing Chinese food! :D I'd told HCB about it beforehand, which made him want Chinese too. I told him he should come along, but nuuuu he wanted to go to Silk Road just two doors down and have whatever to go so that he could eat and work at the same time. And afterward he said the yellow curry he had wasn't that great anyway, so serves him right for turning us down. :3
After that was Despicable Me, which was adorableeee! Probably would've been funnier if I wasn't so tired already, but ah well. It was still so very fluffy. <3
I then held down the desk for Laurel as she worked on a paper. Gawd, I'm resenting the time that I have to write my memo and annotated bibliography for my class....she managed to write her memo in about an hour and a half though, which was pretty impressive. So I edited it while HCB looked at my Cosmo magazine and talked about cologne. /facepalm
Lots of people around tonight, though. The mass of freshmen band geeks that would take over the front desk whenever they came by, Brandie and her friend Patrice coming to practice lighting her baton with HCB for tomorrow's tailgating, the same mass that followed them out there to watch....holy crap, so much estrogen that I'm a little overwhelmed. :/
Laurel's afraid that Brandie just might like HCB after all. And when Laurel's afraid....whoa boy. But she had that extremely wary look on her face, I just gave her the tired look, he got the headshake from me at one point....my head hurts just thinking about it. Long story short, all but three balloons remain out of some 12 or 15 from this morning (they were out for Family Weekend, must make it look all pretty for what few parents we had come and visit!) thanks to HCB inhaling the helium, I'm debating about going to tailgating tomorrow to see more HCB and Brandie or try to sleep in, and HCB realized tonight that he gets at least one friend request on facebook a day, and it's always girls adding him. No surprise there, huh?
Tidbit of the night: HCB said something tonight about how for work, he's going to be spending winter break by going back to modeling. I know he's done it in the past, but I'm starting to wonder if it was just for the benefit of Patrice and Brandie. Because he would, and he always does. :P

High School Is So Over, Kthxbai!
For being about what, two days behind, I've got a bit to cover....so to start.
Not much else really happened until around 4pm, when I was at the front desk enjoying my downtime. No soccer tonight for some reason, instead it was now Thursday night. Which was probably a good thing, because around that time I suddenly had Holly (yes, THAT 401 room again) and Anna (bitchy one who doesn't know where her headphones jack is on her computer) coming to me at the front desk about switching roommates. Well apparently Anna didn't know her roommate Rachel had just gotten the OK to move into her new room. Gah, big mistake telling them that she was moving out anyway, because suddenly Holly was all on the ball about moving her stuff out of 401 and into Anna & Rachel's room, 403. Fuck, Rachel hadn't even gotten her new key yet and they were already trying to infiltrate. Of course they'd at least waited until Holly had finished filling out the room change request, but ahem.....you're supposed to wait till the hall director AND assistant director Lindsay had approved it. So technically, it was an illegal move-in. Ah well. The funny part was that then Sami (vacuum-fail 401) came to the desk saying she just didn't want to live on the same floor as Holly period, so I gave her a form to fill out, also. She was lucky, however, because who had just showed up? Lindsay. So Lindsay was nice enough to fill out the rest of it with her and approve it right there on the spot. Holy crap, now that was generous considering how fucking crazy all these girls have been....
On the upside, today I got an email from Rachel's mom thanking us for the swift room change. Wish it could've been quicker since she'd put in the request two weeks ago and they hadn't gotten to it till then, but ah well. Glad to be of service! :P
I'm still surprised that Lindsay and Kristi approved of Holly's room change, but ah well. Not going to question their logic every time. Meh.
6pm was my astronomy lab, which was all right. More fun was the Walmart trip afterward with Jean to do some shopping. Mostly because I owed Jordan a pair of earbuds. So I also threw in a 24-pack box of fruit snacks and a chicken rice 2-pack to make it up to her. For myself, I got string cheese, Jello cups that were actually the ORIGINAL kind, and a small pumpkin! Quite a successful trip, actually. :3
Actually, my day didn't really pick up until 6 when I went to the Commons to eat with Kacee and a couple of her residents. After we ate, HCB came up not long after dressed in his soccer gear. Apparently the other team didn't show up, so our team won by forfeit, but that at least made me feel better for not being there. He was also on a mission to get started on a calendar he wanted to put up on the bulletin board next to the Bump (convenience store peoples), but apparently my Co is not a person to ask when you want to get things cut out....and since no one was really jumping at the bit to go to the programming room and help, I decided I might as well. I also added in the fact that I didn't have anything pressing to do since I don't have classes Friday, so I enjoyed listening to HCB bitch a little about that. :3
So I went on an adventure to the programming room with him. It involved a lot of bitching about how crappy the diecut choices were, but how they're so freaking expensive, etc etc....he also had to include Canadian Thanksgiving into the calendar, which made me giggle. It was also a lot of him singing, particularly the same three/four lines over and over that was stuck in his head but he couldn't place what movie it was from.....thanks to him, I now can't listen to Total Eclipse of the Heart without laughing. :P It wasn't a particularly long adventure, only a half hour or so, but it was still fun!
Then of course, he had to get his flirtatious side out when Brandie came to the front desk. It's bad enough when some of the female residents walk by, primarily the ones involved in volleyball or some other sport. Brandie's our twirler for marching band and is a good friend of Laurel's, so I've known her for a little while--but he's also not very subtle when she's around. Which doesn't really seem to help the fact that she found him creepy the first time she met him....I'm almost certain that creepy feeling is still around, just to a tolerable level. She does have the whole athletic, blonde, and over 21 things going for her, however.
I have to admit, I am surprised that I've spent as much time as I have with him the past few days--alone for that matter. Of course, nothing ever happens 'cause he's technically my boss. But to wander around campus & Slagle Hall with him, and now work on bulletin board stuff, that's pretty cool. I still don't know why he felt the need to share that he gained about 12 lbs in the past week because of his shitty gluten-filled diet, but I'm not taking for granted the fact that he was willing to share that with me. And it's always little stuff that I pick up, too--like how today I learned that one of his favorite bands is Led Zeppelin. Random things like that.
I'm starting to wonder if I've done too good of a job hiding the fact that I like him. It's not a bad thing because I don't have to worry about what the other CAs would think or what repercussions would happen, but at the same time, it may take some work to dig out of that hole when May comes around....but at the same time, I'm not one to say "You have to wait for the next 7 months until you can start dating again" because wtf? Meh... oh well.
All right, two things to accomplish before I go to bed: Put up posters, and take a shower. Now go!
Wednesday
After my French class, I went back to the dorms to make a call to the attorney general's office. The main problem has been that since September 29, I've been getting random phone numbers calling me, all of them from different states. I always ignored them because I just assumed they were looking for the real Mr. Schlagel again, but then I started wondering.....so I googled the numbers, and turned out that five of them were all connected to this Portfolio Recovery Associates business in Norfolk VA. Great, I had a fraudulent debt collection agency calling my number. I had about three other numbers calling, but those were other suspicious spam calls, so I put my phone on the Do Not Call list Sunday night. Anyway, the attorney's office was very friendly to me on the phone, but they just ended up directing me to the complaint form online. Ugh. So I filled that out when I got back to my room, no big deal. Thursday
Ahhh, Thursdays are always a bitch because I end up having to work the front desk from midnight to 3am, then get up at 8 for my French class. I was at least semi-conscious this time. Barely. I was trying my hardest to stay awake in Newswriting while listening to our guest speaker (he worked for the Washington Post, it was pretty sweet). XDIS was a special waste of time today because they made it a group work day.....yeah, when we have nothing to work on as a group. Fantastic! So we got as much done as possible, then left to go to the Honors lounge. I love the lounge, it's always fun in there!Actually, my day didn't really pick up until 6 when I went to the Commons to eat with Kacee and a couple of her residents. After we ate, HCB came up not long after dressed in his soccer gear. Apparently the other team didn't show up, so our team won by forfeit, but that at least made me feel better for not being there. French Homework Can Wait
Holy craaaaap has this been a busy few days. To sum up the weekend, I did indeed get to go home! Friday night was getting to go out to eat and do some Kohl's and Target shopping, and Saturday was yet more Kohl's shopping with some Kmart and Walmart stuff thrown in. Then I suddenly learned that my parents broke down and bought a new desktop computer a couple weeks ago! Of course, they ended up waiting till I came home to set up the computer, which was fine with me. That meant not only did I pretty much do it all, but I got first dibs on turning on our new 6 GB RAM and 1 terabyte hard drive space computer with a 20" monitor...amg. I had a small nerdgasm playing with it all that night.
Of course, it's now relatively small compared to the some 6 terabytes and 4 GB of RAM all on a 42" screen that Hot Canadian Bacon used when he had his multimedia business....wtf. But hey, someone to talk awesome gadgets with.
Then Monday I had a relatively busy day. I had a dentist appointment at 11am, followed by lunch at the Olive Garden with my parents, my uncle and my aunt. It was quite enjoyable, even though I wasn't very talkative compared to other times. After lunch we then made an impromptu stop at the eye doctor's so that they could take a look at my frames. I know one frame is slightly thicker than the other, but I didn't remember it sticking out past the frame just a little bit...also, the cracks on the side weren't a good sign. I gave the guy my glasses and he said that they were just stress cracks, but that they'd like to see the lens replaced. All I can hope is that it's still under warranty, because then it'd be no problem.
Good news from Monday was that I got my costume in! So now that I have it, I can contemplate getting a petticoat skirt and a pair of shoes for it....but I'm not sure. I was also surprisingly productive since I didn't have class and a crapton of homework to do.
Then there was today. Had a quiz in my French class, which went pretty well considering I was prepared for it. Plus the crazy Moroccan professor (who officially has no problems with pointing out he's Arab and makes racist jokes) didn't critique me on my pronunciation today, even though he had me read out loud the most difficult of the new French words...at least in my opinion they were. And I'm one of the more experienced in the class. :P
Afterward I went to the Honors lounge to put up our Soda: 50 cents sign. No biggie. Then I chilled at the lounge with Jordan, basically taking advantage of my nothingness time. Went to my 11am class after that, but I feel like shit at the moment because I had borrowed Jordan's pair of earbuds for the class, and forgot it in the classroom. Fuck me..... :/
Then it was on to XDIS. Ohhh XDIS, how horribly we hate you....according to Jordan, they can't even find professors willing to teach the class, now. And for having an annotated bibliography and memo due on the same day, it's a pain in the ass. We also have to do consultation appointments with a "writing fellow" aka the freshmen English professor grading our individual assignments, and a research librarian. A librarian who no one can get ahold of, and when we try to come and see him when he's working, he's nowhere to be found. Ugh. The professors were smart at least and postponed it for next week Friday for them to be due, but my consultation with the English prof is tomorrow, and all I've gotten done is finding sources. Fuck me twice....
Psych of Sex was all right, though. It was a rather depressing topic, with a little bit of contraception followed by overpopulation. The cool part was that one of my residents sat in on my class. Aggie had to do it for her First Year Experience deal, where she had to sit in on a 300 or 400-level class, and what do you know, I have two....XDIS and Psych of Sex. Which one is the more appealing of the two? Oh yes....I just hope that the topic didn't deter her from considering the class later, because there are good days and there are bad days in the class...meh.
After that was Yote Floats at the MUC. Yussssss! Now the day was finally getting interesting. I got my float and hung out with Skye and Andrew, got to ask Kristi and Lindsay about online room change requests (ohhh we'll get to that later), and pretty much had an awesome time. Once I was done and contemplated going back to the dorms, here comes Hot Canadian Bacon walking by. So with my questions answered, I ran over and started walking with him wherever he was going. I had nothing to do for the next half hour anyway, might as well make it useful. So I walked across campus with him from the MUC to Slagle Hall to go search for the laminating center. Ahhh, so carefully hidden in the basement....how entertaining. I kept running into Jordan though, so while HCB went into the laminating center the two of us stood in the hallway and chatted it up.
HCB was finally done with some ten minutes to spare before my 4pm meeting, so he ended up walking back to the MUC with me. That was when we had our multimedia conversation. It's always entertaining in some way or another when talking with him, though.....he also has no problems sharing his weight. Such as the fact that his gluten intake was wayyy too high this past week, which throws the whole weight thing out of whack.... Yet he's so very self-conscious of his image that it's almost ridiculous. What is this I don't even..... D:
But anyways. Went to my 4pm meeting with Jeff and some fellow CAs for our selection and recruitment stuff, conveniently and adorably called CARS. We got about 5 or 10 minutes of work done in what was a 40 minute meeting, which was quite hilarious. The majority of that time was spent talking about Gatorade athletes and pancakes. LOTS of pancakes.
After that was some sporadic work done, dinner with Kacee and Rachel and friend, and a little bit of hanging at the front desk. Next was Glee, then a little bit more productive work time aka putting up posters, then it was back to the front desk to bother meh co-CA about programming stuff. I made sure to thank him for helping out with it all because I hate it with a passion...he doesn't like it too much either, but I made sure to thank him extra. :P
I would've totally made it back up there earlier if it hadn't been for constant distractions. Then at about 11 my resident Rachel came down asking for some assistance....aka backup. Her and her roommate haven't been getting along for the past few weeks, and Rachel's put in a room change request, but she did it the online way...meaning not only does Kristi NOT have it so she could get it done ASAP, but no one has approved online requests up until about a week ago. They're just now starting on that shit. And what happens? Twice in a week I've had Rachel coming to me because she's scared of what her roommate might do. And yes, Anna is a very angry one....sometimes I wonder if she's capable of throwing things, but I wouldn't put it past her. So finally I had to listen to both sides individually tonight, along with a good chunk of time putting them in the same room and have them talk it out between each other. Hey, don't shoot the mediator.
Basically, best choice I had was to email Lindsay and ask what I could do and/or if they could expedite this like NOW. Problem was, I'd no idea if it'd even be worth the time. Then was HCB gonna be any help? Of course not. For one thing, Rachel was standing right next to him at the entrance to Beede because she was going to spend the night with a couple friends--I refused to be the bitchy one to say "Hey, could I ask about a room change request Lindsay's got, can I get her to do it like now?" when Rachel's right there. However, the "Hey, I need to talk to you in your office right now" didn't work either, which pissed me off a little more than it should've. Thank gawd I had his cell number so I could text it, but I was getting seriously frustrated...
I took my anger out by listening to Cee Lo Green, though. Of course, HCB absolutely loves 'Fuck You', and I'm using the song against him to release some stress....how ironic.
Then to top it off, I have to call the attorney general tomorrow after French class. Now, my phone's gotten strange phonecalls as it is for a guy Jon Schlagel (which is eerily pronounced like Slagle). I just ignore any of the numbers I don't recognize and/or don't have the South Dakota area code, but these were coming pretty regularly. Googled the numbers, and it turned out that five of them were known numbers of a fraudulent debt collection company. What was on the news just Sunday night when I was home and actually there to watch the news? A story on fraud debt collectors using scare tactics. They also conveniently provided a phone number and link on contacting the attorney general so that we could make them stop calling. Even though the link wasn't much help because I couldn't quite pin what my problem was on the site, I'm just going to call tomorrow and see what they could do to help. I also have three other numbers who never left voicemails and are possible spam calls, so we'll see if they can take care of that too.
I wonder if I should even bother trying to dash out an annotated bibliography for tomorrow's little XDIS chat....nahhh.
I'm also hoping that there's soccer tomorrow. I could use the wind-down time. :P

Evolution of Soccer
I never appreciated soccer growing up, because it was always the youngsters who were (and still are) recruited the most for summer soccer teams. I was one of the few who didn't want to be on a kiddie soccer team.
I then learned to appreciate soccer from international teams. I particularly like Brazil and Portugal on the world scene, but Manchester United's pretty good, too. I also have a poster of Cristiano Ronaldo in my dorm room. But I'm never going to choose the US over another team....meh, just don't see them as a threat to be reckoned with when it comes to soccer.
I think I may go to soccer games more often, now. :P
I have other shots, but they're much angrier, lol.

Karma's a Bitch...Or Is That Me? :P
It's official, Hot Canadian Bacon went drinking last night. He also thought he went to McDonald's for food, but he couldn't remember that part when I saw him earlier this morning. Combining the alcohol with greasy extra doses of gluten, and he felt like shit the entire day. He looked fine by the nighttime, mostly because the hangover part had subsided, but his stomach was hell. But considering I was in the basement and could hear him talking at the front desk, which is pretty damn loud, I think he's fine.
Also considering the shit pulled last night, I didn't feel too bad when I talked extra loud for him while walking to class. He most definitely had the sensitivity to light and sound deal going. All he had to do was walk out of the dorms to the front desk and it was instantly "Owww bright lights..." :P
For some reason, sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't give him so much crap....then I remember that being excessively nice is just as annoying as being, well, excessively annoying, so I'm trying to maintain that balance. Be nice one night and put everyone's schedules on Excel sheets, make his hangover feel like hell the next. Makes it a lot less obvious that I find him ridiculously hotttt......grawr.
In other news, one of my residents wants to sit in on one of my 300 level classes for her FYE class. Hmmm, have her witness the shitty XDIS class, or have her witness porn in Psych of Sex. If she joined in on XDIS, she'd certainly make the class a whole lot more interesting! As for Psych of Sex, I think she'd do just fine handling the class. And most all of the videos are voluntary, so she doesn't have to watch anything she doesn't want to watch. But hey, now I can say I hung out/studied with one of my residents this week! :D
The other highlight of the day was hanging out with a ton of my fellow high school friends. It was pretty damn awesome! Primarily because it was two or three hours of hanging out with Libby, Greg and Jake from SDSU, who we rarely get to see because USD & SDSU is two hours apart. Libby wants to transfer down here so badly, it's...well, awesome. They're quality people overall! And while SDSU has it's finer points, it's just not the same if someone doesn't click with the campus. And USD has done a fantastic job with the clicking. But I wouldn't be so quick to give the credit to student services.....the sheer fact that student services wants us to make an effort is big in itself. I'm still frustrated by their insistence on us spending every moment of our lives with residents, but that's cool. :/
There's lots of whispering going around. With Dillon, with Teresa, with Michelle, always with Matt....dayum. And I never get in on this gossip. Partially voluntary, partially involuntary. Hmmm.
